MANILA – Two weeks after confessing that Matteo Guidicelli is now her
boyfriend, Sarah Geronimo revealed that she thinks their relationship
is for keeps.
In an exclusive interview with Toni Gonzaga which aired on “The Buzz” Sunday, Geronimo said she did not enter the relationship without thinking long term.
“Ako siyempre kapag nagmahal ka ng isang tao, lagi mong tinitignan 'yun na worth keeping,” she said.
Asked what is it about Guidicelli that qualifies him as “worth keeping,” the singer-actress simply replied: “Si Matt kasi matiyaga siya eh.”
Geronimo confirmed their relationship at a thanksgiving party held last month for "Maybe This Time," her recently released hit movie co-starring Coco Martin.
At the time, Guidicelli was in the United States for a series of shows for The Filipino Channel. The actor has yet to return to the Philippines as of writing.
While their romantic ties are now out in the open, Geronimo appealed that they still be given privacy as to the details of their relationship.
The singer-actress said it is enough that she shared to the public a part of her personal life.
Rumors romantically linking the two Kapamilya stars first surfaced in 2013 when Guidicelli was reported to be the only showbiz personality seen at Geronimo's private birthday party in July.
In January this year, entertainment magazine YES!, citing sources, reported that the two are indeed a couple, but neither confirmed this when asked in the weeks that followed.
However, the two appeared to be more open with their romance in March, when Geronimo attended Guidicelli's birthday party. The two were spotted holding hands at the gathering, with photos of their apparent sweetness making the rounds online.
Asked why she finally decided to make their relationship public, Geronimo said: “Mag-26 na ako, parang na-realize ko lang sa sarili ko na it’s time to decide na maging normal, maging normal na tao, na babae, maging normal sa emosyon ko. There’s nothing wrong with it.”
Meanwhile, Geronimo said she is grateful that her parents are still guiding her even if she is already an adult.
Of course we are not perfect.
Tao rin tayo, mga babae tayo and part of loving is talagang being with that someone.
