At least three people died in the wake of floods that swamped Calumpit town in Bulacan province, radio reports said Saturday.

Radio dzXL reported one of the fatalities was a five-year-old child who drowned in Corazon village, while another was a 16-year-old who died of hypothermia.

The third died of a snakebite, the report added.

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council head Benito Ramos said they are keeping tabs on Hagonoy, Calumpit and Marilao towns, where much of the flooding occurred.

Meanwhile, dzXL quoted Paombong town Mayor Donato Marcos as saying they had been conducting continuous rescue efforts as floodwaters continued to rise.
