MANILA, Philippines—Two bodies of missing family members that were
swept away by flood water in Caloocan City were recovered Wednesday, a
Radyo Inquirer report said.
Recovered bodies were identified as that of Rodolfo Hikaw, 48,
pedicab driver and daughter Laide, 6 years old. They were reported
missing Tuesday after a wall of water roaring from the creek bed washed
away their house.
Another daughter, Arlene, 4 year old is still missing. Only the mother, Charlita, 37 survived.
Charlita said their house was at the side of the creek. Early morning
Tuesday, they heard a rattling sound and then raging water entered and
washed away their house. Rodolfo got hold of Laida.
She woke up at a hospital Wednesday with the news that her family is gone and a funeral parlor is asking her P27,000 so she can recover the bodies of her husband and little girl.
“Damit nga po wala ako, pambayad pa,” she told Radyo Inquirer in tears.
