MANILA, Philippines—Water continued to spill from La Mesa Dam in Quezon City Wednesday although the water level at the reservoir supplying most of Metro Manila with potable water has come down slightly.

Manila Water Co. Inc., which operates the dam,  said that as of 11 a.m. the water level at the reservoir stood at 80.27 meters, slightly lower than the 80.41 meters measured at 5 a.m..

The reservoir, which has no floodgates and works like an infinity pool, automatically spills excess water at the level of 80.15 meters.

Water from the dam goes into the Tullahan River, which flows through the northern part of Quezon City, including the Fairview area, as well as the cities of Malabon, Valenzuela, and Caloocan before draining into Manila Bay.
