MANILA, Philippines -- Actor Matt Evans said he was treated well by his fellow inmates, who thought he was there to shoot some scenes for a series.

Evans was jailed for almost two days after he was arrested for allegedly hurting his live-in-partner Johnelline Hickins and her brother Yanni Hickins. He was released on Monday afternoon after posting a P200 bail.

The former "Pinoy Big Brother" teen housemate has denied the accusations.
"Actually ito 'yung nakakatawa kasi 'yung pagpasok sa akin doon iisa lang 'yung reaction nilang lahat, akala nila taping. Akala nila taping. Tapos unang tanong nila sa akin, 'Ano ang taping niyo? Hindi ba 'Pedro Penduko' ito?'" Evans said on Tuesday afternoon during his first meeting with the press since his arrest.

"So everybody was so nice, wala akong nasabi. Normal na tao lang talaga. Kahit anong sakit wala. Pero siyempre iba yung pakiramdam, kasi kapag taping alam mo pag-cut lalabas ka kaagad. (Kapag totoo) eh wala namang direktor doon," said Evans, who's best known for his role as Pedro Penduko in the successful ABS-CBN series "Komiks: Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko."

Taping disrupted
Meanwhile, Evans apologized to the production team of his upcoming series "Paraiso."
"Actually may taping kami this day (Tuesday), 'yun nga na-packed up. I'm very sorry para sa production, sa team, kasi siyempre sobrang hassle. Siyempre hindi ako makapag-taping. Pero ongoing pa din kami," Evans said.

In "Paraiso," Evans plays Justin who is secretly in love with his best friend Yani (Jessy Mendiola). However, she falls for Brennan (Matteo Guidicelli) when they get stranded on an island.

The series will premiere on November 5 as part of the Kapamilya Gold afternoon block, replacing "Pintada," which is now on its final two weeks.
