MANILA, Philippines – Television host and actress Toni Gonzaga is still
waiting for the chance to work with actor Piolo Pascual in a project.
Speaking on “The Buzz” where she is a host on Sunday, Gonzaga said
Pascual is among the actors whom she really wants to work with.
Gonzaga said she will never forget the actor because her career began after she appeared in a TV commercial with Pascual in 2011, where she memorably shouts the line, "I love you, Piolo!"
In her past interview, Gonzaga said the unexpected popularity of “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) was one of the factors why her supposed project with Pascual got delayed.
“Kasi nung time na 'yun ang dami kong hosting jobs and at the same time dahil sumikat yung ‘PBB’ tapos sobrang sikat 'yung mga housemates tapos si Sam (Milby) na-link sa akin, so parang nagkaroon ng Sam and Toni love team. So ayun, natuwa naman sila na nagka-tatlong pelikula kami hanggang sa naghiwalay na talaga ng landas. So nag-concentrate na ako sa TV,” she said.
The TV host also revealed that she and Pascual have long been waiting for their team-up to materialize.
Working with Robin
Meanwhile, Gonzaga said on “The Buzz” that she is also looking forward to to doing a movie project with action star Robin Padilla, whom she considers an icon in the entertainment industry.
Gonzaga and Padilla were supposed to do a film in 2010 but it did not push through.
“Kasi isa sa mga pangarap ko na makatrabaho si Mr. Robin Padilla kasi institusyon, icon, idol. Tapos hindi natuloy. And then eventually another door opened, nagawa yung ‘Amnesia Girl’ so everything naman fell into its place,” she said.
“Kung before siguro 2010 tinanong niyo ako kung handa na ako makatrabaho si Mr. Robin Padilla, ang sasabihin ko hindi pa po. Pero ngayon okay na,” she added.
As for Padilla, he said working with Gonzaga would definitely be an honor.
“Hanggang nagyon ako pa rin ay umaasa sapagkat siyempre si Toni, box office 'yan, subok iyan.
Isang malaking karangalan na makasama siya. Siguro darating ang panahon,” Padilla said.
