MANILA, Philippines -- Actress Maja Salvador stressed that she and actor Gerald Anderson are not yet an item but didn't deny that they are seeing each other.

“Hindi pa [kami]. Agad agad? Ayoko pangunahan. Sa akin na lang muna. Siguro in time," Salvador said in an interview with Push.com on Tuesday.

"Huwag muna ngayon mag-share. Sinagot niya naman ’di ba? Sinabi naman niya na kinikilala namin isa’t-isa,” she added.

In the interview, Salvador admitted that she is happy with Anderson, who has been defending her against intrigues.

“Aamin ko masaya naman ako. Pero hanggang dun muna. Ayoko muna magdetalye. Pero sobrang salamat sa kanya kasi nararamdaman ko na special ako talaga sa kanya at ipinagtatanggol niya ako kahit papaano,” she said.

Right now, Salvador said that she and Anderson are enjoying each other's company with some of their friends.

Hurt by criticisms

Salvador, who has been receiving hate tweets and messages after she was linked to Anderson, admitted that she gets hurt by all the negative comments being thrown at her.

But the actress appealed to her critics not to involve her family in the controversy.

The criticism against Salvador began in January after reports surfaced that she is dating Anderson, the former boyfriend of her best friend and "Ina Kapatid Anak" co-star Kim Chiu.
