Jake Ejercito will not have the "opinion" of TV host-model Georgina
Wilson of his father, former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada.
In a post on micro-blogging site Twitter, Ejercito quoted the
Filipina-British model as saying, "ugh i hate politics - but I only have
one thing to say: Anyone that votes for Erap is a f***ing idiot"
Mentioning the "tweet" on Friday, Ejercito, the deposed president's
son with former actress Laarni Enriquez, quickly came to the defense of
his father.
"Ms. Wilson, social media might be a free world but I think it's quite irresponsible to express such an opinion unless you are well-versed with the current situation of the city of Manila and how the present local administration has failed to handle it.
Estrada, ousted from power in 2001 after an uprising triggered by allegations of corruption, got 343,993 votes in the Manila polls, edging out incumbent Mayor Alfredo Lim.
The 22-year-old Ejercito, who is on his last year taking up political science and business management in London, returned early this year to the Philippines to take part in his father's campaign.
