MANILA - The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a temporary restraining order stopping the release of the remaining pork barrel funds of lawmakers in the 2013 national budget.

The TRO bars the Department of Budget and Management, the National Treasurer, the Executive Secretary and any other person acting under their authority or any other government agency from releasing or allocating the remaining priority development assistance funds (PDAF) of members of Congress for 2013.

The stay order also covers the Malampaya funds except for financing energy resource development and exploitation programs and projects of government.

The SC TRO comes out amid the alleged P10 billion pork barrel scam involving businesswoman Janet Napoles and several lawmakers.

The High Court also set oral arguments on the three petitions assailing the constitutionality of the pork barrel system. The oral arguments are set on October 8 at 2 p.m.
