MANILA (UPDATE 2) - Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) in Katipunan suspended work and classes on Wednesday morning reportedly due to a bomb threat.
The Guidon, one of the university’s student publications, said on Twitter: “All Ateneo classes and office work suspended due to bomb threat. PNP units now sweeping the campus.”

Based on a text blast sent by the university to its students, Ateneo said, “we advise all units on the Loyola Heights campus to execute evacuation procedures similar to fire drills. Everyone is asked to go home.”

According to Quezon City Police District Chief Richard Albano, an initial sweep did not find a bomb. However, “they are still continuing the sweep at this time.”

The university supposedly received three text messages regarding the bomb threat beginning 9:20 a.m.

Aside from the tertiary colleges, the Katipunan campus also includes the primary and secondary levels of the school.
