MANILA – Following the new rape complaint filed against Vhong Navarro, social media users reacted to the claims made by another woman that she was sexually assaulted by the actor and TV host. Lawyer Virgilio Batalla said Navarro raped his client, Roxanne Acosta Cabanero, in 2010 in Pasig.Batalla named his client, Cabanero, who has also gone public.
She approached Batalla for legal help 5 days after the Navarro-Cornejo controversy came out.

Social media users immediately reacted to the report and expressed their views.

Dionel Katipunan, meanwhile, said that she wishes that lying should be given a penalty higher than that of rape.

Aliyah Gumanas, Emaniel Avancena, and Del Nugpo asked why Cabanero had to wait for 4 years before filing the rape case against Navarro.

Maria Pitogo said that it would be better if officials would concentrate first on the issue involving Navarro, Deniece Cornejo, and Cedric Lee.

Zen Patinga, meanwhile, said the issue is just part of a "strategy" and he puts his trust on Navarro’s side of the story. However, some replied with witty comments to bring humor to the issue.

Franklin Guanzon, Anna Miano, and Carla Lopez associated the case with the use of the “Showtime” line “Artista na ‘yan!,” famous Twitter hashtag “#throwbackthursday,” and with facts surrounding the Navarro-Cornejo allegations.

On Twitter, some netizens doubted the sincerity of the new complainant, given that it took her four years to surface.
