MANILA (UPDATED) - Comedian Jose Manalo's daughter was hospitalized after she allegedly tried to commit suicide inside their condominium unit in Greenhills, San Juan Wednesday evening. Atty. Dennis Pangan, the legal counsel of Manalo's 17-year-old daughter, said his client took different kinds of medicines and was found unconscious by her mother inside their house around 10 p.m.

He added that the girl left a suicide note, wherein she allegedly expressed her dismay at Manalo for abandoning her, her mother, and siblings.
She also mentioned how her father failed to fulfill his promise to pay her tuition fee in the letter, according to Pangan.

The girl also expressed disappointment over Manalo's alleged lack of support for her younger sibling, who always cries when looking for their father, Pangan added.
"Parang hindi ho sila tinuturing na anak ng kanilang tatay," Pangan said.
The girl, who is suffering from depression, is now conscious and is recuperating at the Medical City in Mandaluyong.

In 2012, Manalo had a legal tiff with his wife, Anna Lyn, who accused him of not fulfilling his financial responsibilities to their children following their separation over the comedian's alleged extra-marital affair.

Anna Lyn, at the time, alleged she started to experience verbal abuse from Manalo in the second half of 2011, amid rumors that the TV host was having a "sexual relationship" with a member of popular dance group. She claimed that Manalo's alleged tirades were committed even in the presence of their children.

At the height of the controversy in March 2012, Manalo denied neglecting his children, saying he continued to provide for them.
In an interview in December of the same year, Manalo said he no longer has communication with Anna Lyn, but stressed that he has been giving financial support to his children.
