Sarah thinks Matteo is 'worth keeping'

MANILA – Two weeks after confessing that Matteo Guidicelli is now her boyfriend, Sarah Geronimo revealed that she thinks their relationship is for keeps.

In an exclusive interview with Toni Gonzaga which aired on “The Buzz” Sunday, Geronimo said she did not enter the relationship without thinking long term.

“Ako siyempre kapag nagmahal ka ng isang tao, lagi mong tinitignan 'yun na worth keeping,” she said.
Asked what is it about Guidicelli that qualifies him as “worth keeping,” the singer-actress simply replied: “Si Matt kasi matiyaga siya eh.”

Geronimo confirmed their relationship at a thanksgiving party held last month for "Maybe This Time," her recently released hit movie co-starring Coco Martin.
At the time, Guidicelli was in the United States for a series of shows for The Filipino Channel. The actor has yet to return to the Philippines as of writing.

While their romantic ties are now out in the open, Geronimo appealed that they still be given privacy as to the details of their relationship.
“Yun ang parang hindi ko na maibigay na details pa. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, oo aaminin ko pero 'yung details sana sa amin na lang,” she said.

The singer-actress said it is enough that she shared to the public a part of her personal life.
“Sabi ko i-admit na tapos 'yun na, wala ng follow up na questions. Para hindi rin sabihin ng mga tao na itong si Sarah, puro deny. Hindi rin kasi naiintindihan ng lahat kung ano yung pinagdadaanan natin, kung ano 'yung rason kung bakit kailangan pribado muna. Kumbaga 'yung actions namin, lumalabas naman kami, hindi naman kami nagtatago,” she said.

Rumors romantically linking the two Kapamilya stars first surfaced in 2013 when Guidicelli was reported to be the only showbiz personality seen at Geronimo's private birthday party in July.

In January this year, entertainment magazine YES!, citing sources, reported that the two are indeed a couple, but neither confirmed this when asked in the weeks that followed.

However, the two appeared to be more open with their romance in March, when Geronimo attended Guidicelli's birthday party. The two were spotted holding hands at the gathering, with photos of their apparent sweetness making the rounds online.

Asked why she finally decided to make their relationship public, Geronimo said: “Mag-26 na ako, parang na-realize ko lang sa sarili ko na it’s time to decide na maging normal, maging normal na tao, na babae, maging normal sa emosyon ko. There’s nothing wrong with it.”

Meanwhile, Geronimo said she is grateful that her parents are still guiding her even if she is already an adult.
“Ang parents kasi hindi natatapos ang kanilang pagpapaalala, especially tayo babae eh kasi sa mga lalaki walang mawawala eh. Kailangan talaga alam natin kung paano pag-ingatan ang mga sarili natin. Of course we are not perfect.

Tao rin tayo, mga babae tayo and part of loving is talagang being with that someone.

Matteo excited to go home to be with 'mahal'

WOODSIDE, New York – The Filipino Channel (TFC) subscribers and Kapamilya fans got the surprise of their lives when hunky Filipino-Italian star Matteo Guidicelli stopped by a Pinoy neighborhood store in Woodside.

"Natiyempo lang, I was surprised," said Elmhurst, NY fan Nessie Cornil. "He's sweet, he's cute, he's handsome, tuwang-tuwa nga ako parang ngayon lang ako nakakita ng artista."
"We came all the way here just to see Matteo," said Jessica Barrios who traveled from White Plains, NY.

For many fans, including a Pinay nanny who brought with her 3 kids she's babysitting, meeting the "man of the hour" is even more exciting after Guidicelli and his girlfriend Sarah Geronimo made their relationship public.

"Gusto ko yun, maganda, bagay sila," Maricel Ibasco of Elmhurst said.
Guidicelli is in the US for a series of TFC Sama-Saya fiesta appearances and performances.

"I'm going to be singing some Tagalog songs for them, OPM songs, just me coming here to the States, I just want to make our Kapamilyas feel closer to home 'di ba?" he said.

With the first hurricane of the season threatening to dampen Fourth of July weekend celebrations in some parts of the east coast, Hurricane Arthur prompted officials of the Fil-Am Friendship Day Sama-Saya event in Virginia Beach to move the festivities from Saturday to Sunday, July 6.

The actor will be joined by Barangay USA's Gelo at the TFC Hour show scheduled in Virginia Beach this Sunday.
"Magsama-sama po tayo sa Red Wing Park, Virginia Beach," Guidicelli said, "Kita-kita po tayo dun."
While Guidicelli said he had a blast spending time with Kapamilya fans in the US, he is also excited to come home to Philippines to be with his "mahal" next week.
"Alam mo na yan, excited na tayo diyan," Guidicelli said.
