Fan-favorite Miss Philippines Universe Shamcey Suspsup placed third runner-up in the Miss Universe competitions, joining the entourage of Miss Universe 2011, Miss Angola Leila Lopes.

Supsup, an alumna of the University of the Philippines whose family hails from General Santos City, made it to the Top 5 of the Miss Universe 2011 competitions and, by the end of the final round, she had topped the live online voting, emerging as the global fan-favorite of the last women standing.

"She's got a million-watt smile," Miss Universe commentators said of Supsup, an architect. "And yet she's very humble." Supsup said she dreams of opening her own architectural firm, one that can help promote eco-friendly designs and help save the Earth.

Fourth runner-up was Miss China. Miss Brazil was second runner up, and Ukraine was first funner-up to Miss Angola.

In the Question-and-Answer round, Supsup was asked: Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person that you love?

She said: "I would not... The first person that I love is my God... The person who loves me should love my God, too."

Supsup was joined in the Top Five by candidates for Ukraine, China, Brazil, and Angola.

In the Top Ten with Supsup were candidates for Australia, Costa Rice, France, Ukraine, Portugal, Panama, China, Brazil, and Angola, who topped the fan votes by the end of the third round.

Before the field was whittled down to 10, Supsup was joined in the second round of 16 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, by candidates from China, France, Kosovo, Colombia, Angola, Australia, Puerto Rico, Brazil, The Netherlands, USA, Ukraine, Panama, Costa Rica, Portugal, and Venezuela.
