MANILA, Philippines -- The former husband of Carmina Villaroel, Rustom
Padilla, extended his congratulations to the Kapamilya host for her
surprise wedding with Zoren Legaspi held Thursday night.
Padilla only learned of the celebrity couple's wedding ceremony Friday
morning, and was visibly surprised when asked for his comment on it,
according to a report published on Interaksyon.
"Really? Hindi ko alam! Congratulations," Padilla was quoted as saying by the news site. "I’m very happy. Wow! Really?"
"It has long been overdue," Padilla said of the wedding ceremony held
Thursday evening at Fernbrook Garden in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. "And
kay Zoren, tama 'yang ginawa mo!"
The chance of marriage had eluded the couple due to "legalities" and "annotations" from the actress-host's previous marriage with Padilla, until August this year.
It was only after two years of married life when Villaroel separated from Padilla, who later admitted on national television his sexual preference, and re-emerged as a transsexual named BB Gandanghari in 2009.
"Hindi na," the former hunk actor said of not being invited to the wedding. "That’s their private family affair… But I’m very. very happy for them."
