MANILA, Philippines – Veteran singer Pops Fernandez doesn’t want
people to think that she and former husband Martin Nievera are just
using each other to promote their concerts.
“Some mistake it as we're using it as a promo or we're pretending. We
are not pretending. I don't want people to think na okay kami because
may show kami,” she said in an interview with “The Buzz” aired on
Sunday.
Fernandez stressed she and Nievera have remained friends since their
separation more than a decade ago and that they are not just pretending
to have a good relationship.
She, however, revealed that they also have arguments, especially when it concerns their sons.
“Parati naming sinasabi na ‘No we're fine, we're okay.’ Pero kung
hindi ka talaga okay at mayroon ka pang tinatagong galit, hindi ka rin
magiging happy. Mayroon pa rin kaming konting arguments about the kids.
Pero other than that, wala nang dapat i-argue about eh,” she said.
“As a person, he's gotten more senti. I think that's good. He's always been very expressive but I haven't seen him as senti and as emotional as he is,” she said.
Asked what she wants to tell her former husband, she said: “I’ve said this to him in a very private conversation. I really want him to be happy. I know his dreams. Wala pang makakapalit sa isang Martin Nievera.”
Nievera and Fernandez are currently promoting their upcoming concert with Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid on Valentine’s Day at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
