MANILA, Philippines - The camp of Cesar Montano denied the allegations of Sunshine Cruz that he sexually abused her.
The Kapamilya actress filed a criminal complaint against Cesar for alleged physical abuse and rape on Tuesday, August 14.
Sunshine also said Cesar has been keeping their three children away from her since July 29.
In an interview with GMA 7’s morning show “Unang Hirit,” Cesar’s lawyer Joel Ferrer said they have not received a copy of the complaint. Ferrer said his client was surprised Sunshine is claiming she was raped.

Ferrer said that on May 12, the day the alleged sexual abuse happened, it was Sunshine who invited Cesar to spend the night at her house.
The two have been living separately since Sunshine left Cesar early this year following reports that the actor allegedly had an affair with a starlet.
Noong Mother’s Day na tinutukoy na ginahasa siya, nung araw na yun, nag-text si Shine kay Cesar,inimbita para mag-dinner sila kasama ang mga bata. Nag-dinner yung pamilya,” Ferrer said.
He further said, “After dinner, komo’t nag-enjoynaman sila, walang away, sa bahay ni Shine natulog si Cesar at kinabukasan na ho umuwi si Cesar.
The two even exchanged “sweet nothings” after that incident, Ferrer said. “So nagulat si Cesar.”
Ferrer also explained it was the choice the ex-couple’s children to stay in Cesar’s house.
“Na-interview ko ho yung panganay kagabi. Tinanong ko siya, ‘Saan mo ba gusto?’ Ang sabi niya, gusto niya kay Cesar. Ganun din ho yung bunso,” Ferrer said. “Mangyari, yung tinitirhan nina Cesar
ngayon eh mas maluwag
Gusto niya kay Cesar na manatili dahil pag na kay Sunshine siya, e gawa nung kaso na kinahaharap nila, baka hindi nila makita si Cesar,” he added.
In the same interview, Bonificio Alentajan, the legal counsel of Sunshine, refuted Ferrer’s statements and said the children are already asking for their mother.
In an interview with the media on Tuesday, August 13, Alentajan said Sunshine has filed a Temporary Protection Order against Cesar.
