After the most recent break-up of his long-running romantic saga with cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo in May, Hayden Kho said he finally came to one obvious conclusion. “Maybe we’re not the right persons for each other,” he said.
More importantly, the controversial model and actor looked inward and renewed his faith in God. Specifically, he discovered Apologetics, a field of Christian theology that promotes a rational basis for the Christian faith and defends it against objections.
Nowadays, one of show business’ most controversial Lotharios would like the public to believe that he has sworn off sexual relations with women.
“Of course, anything that has got to do with what you’re saying. My personal vow is to live a righteous life and second is to try to keep my reputation clean,” declared Hayden, who lost his medical license last year as a result of a sex video scandal.
Hayden studied Apologetics after he met one of its foremost practitioners, Canadian-American evangelist Dr. Ravi Zacharias, when the latter preached in Manila in late May.
“I don’t know what he saw in me. Every month I leave the country to follow him to be one of his disciples,” Hayden said.
As he got serious with his new calling as a defender of the Christian faith, he began to have misgivings about his recent foray into the acting profession. After appearing in “The Bride and The Lover”, he backed out of two movie roles.
“I think I’m getting more and more uneasy about show business,” he explained.
What about reports that he has been spotted going out with Wendy Valdez?
“They happen to be girls, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m going out with them, that I’m in pursuit of a romantic relationship,” he replied.
Does this mean we will soon meet Hayden Kho, the pastor?
“Nakakahiya man isipin na Hayden Kho, pastor! Let’s see na lang where God will bring me. Pero it’s not for me to decide. Right now kailangan ko lang matutunan, kailangan ko lang malaman kung ano ano ang pinaniniwalaan ko. I need to know what I believe,” he said.
