MANILA – Singer-actress Vina Morales is very proud of her younger sister, actress Shaina Magdayao, for being part of the acclaimed crime-thriller movie “On The Job.”
In an interview with ABS-CBN News before the movie’s premiere night on Monday, Morales said she is glad that Magdayao is finally doing mature roles, far from the roles which she used to do on television.

“I’m really excited for her kasi this is a mature role for Shaina. Kinikilig ako kasi mayroon silang love scene ni Piolo (Pascual),” she said.
While she has yet to see the movie while the interview was being conducted, Morales said she is certain that her sister gave her best in portraying her character.

“Sabi niya [the love scene] was very well done. I’m looking forward but I’m also nervous for her. I know in my heart that she was really taken care of,” she said.
Morales added: “Ayaw niyang magkuwento kaya tuloy ang aga-aga ko dito sa premiere night. Ayaw niya magkuwento. I know naman na lahat ng characters dito, talagang pinili ng producers kung sino ang babagay.”

Directed by Erik Matti, “On The Job” had its world premiere in France as part of the Directors' Fortnight section at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. Its packed screening ended in a standing ovation from its international audience.
The film's local release will be on August 28.

On Shaina-Piolo
Meanwhile, Morales refused to reveal anything about reports saying Magdayao and Pascual are “hanging out.”

“They are good friends. I think mas nagkaroon ng time dahil nagshu-shooting ng ‘On The Job.’ I don’t see anything wrong with that naman. Wala akong nakikita [na romantic],” she said.

Morales, however, said she is happy that Magdayao and Pascual have invested on building a strong friendship.
“Their friendship is really intact and it’s better na ganyan ang mga nangyayari. They are good friends,” she said.
