MANILA – The two daughters of host-actress Ruffa Gutierrez are still hoping their mother can find another man who will love and take care of her someday.
Gutierrez and her daughters Lorin and Venice were recently interviewed by ABS-CBN News at the sidelines of Venice’s 9th birthday celebration.

When Gutierrez was asked if she still misses having a special someone, the former beauty queen relayed the question to her daughters, seeking their opinion if they would like her to get into another relationship.

Without mincing words, Lorin quickly told her mom: “You have to get somebody soon before you get old.”
Lorin and Venice then added the qualifications Gutierrez’s future partner should possess.

“I don’t care as long as the new person for mommy’s heart is not a murderer. I don’t want mommy’s husband to be a murderer,” said Lorin.

“And someone who’s fit,” added Venice.
Erupting into laughter, Gutierrez explained Lorin's "murderer" comment.

“Tine-train ko na silang manood ng news para maging aware sila sa nangyayari sa bansa natin, sa mga crimes na nangyayari. Mas mabuti na 'yung alam nila, aware sila so that makaiwas sila sa ganung sitwasyon,” she started.

Gutierrez added: “Every time may napapanood kami, sabi ni Lorin, ‘My gosh mommy you can’t end up with a murderer.’ We discuss things na nangyayari sa bansa natin.”
Just last June, Gutierrez said she is content with the current state of her life and career, saying she couldn't wish for anything more.

"I just want all the blessings to continue, peace of mind, happiness, 'yun lang. Wala naman talaga [akong hiling pa]. I think I'm very happy, very fulfilled with my life right now," said the actress-host, who turned 39 last June 24.

Although she is not closing her doors to romance, Gutierrez said she feels no need to actively find a partner, pointing to her two daughters with former husband Ylmaz Bektas as her source of happiness.

"Kung dumating naman si Mr. Right, eh wala namang problema na i-accept ko na kung ano man ang dumating, especially when it comes to love. I haven't had a boyfriend in two years, so kung dumating man 'yon this year, iwi-welcome ko 'yon.

"But I'm not going to settle, I'm very happy with myself, just being with my kids. There's really no need to look for a man. I'm very happy on my own," she said.
