MANILA - Claudine Barretto on Friday visited the tomb of Rico Yan, her former on-screen and real-life partner, on the occasion of the late actor's birth anniversary.
Yan, who died of cardiac arrest due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis on March 29, 2002, would have turned 39 on March 14.
Photos of the 34-year-old Barretto at Yan's tomb at Manila Memorial Park in ParaƱaque were posted on the actress' official Facebook fan page. The photos were credited to Geraldine Yan-Tueres, a sister of the late actor who accompanied Barretto during her visit.
Arguably the most popular "love team" in the late '90s, Barretto and Yan co-starred in several ABS-CBN series and 6 movies under the network's film arm Star Cinema.

The two, who first worked together in the 1996 film "Radio Romance," eventually became a couple in real life after years of being paired on-screen. They celebrated their fourth anniversary on March 4, 2002, only weeks before Yan passed away.
The couple was rumored to have already broken up when Yan died.
At the time of his passing, Yan's last movie, "Got to Believe" co-starring Barretto, was still in theaters. He had two then-ongoing shows -- the noontime program "Magandang Tanghali Bayan" and the late-night sitcom "Whattamen."
Barretto eventually married actor Raymart Santiago in 2002, with whom she has two kids. They separated last year and are currently embroiled in a legal battle over the custody of their children and allegations of domestic violence.
