Despite being highly favored to beat challenger Timothy Bradley, Manny Pacquiao isn’t about to take any chances when he defends his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The 33-year-old boxing star said he’ll once again adopt the same regular training regimen he did in the past – eight weeks of training camp to be divided between the mountain hideaway of Baguio and the moderate climate of Los Angeles.

The country’s Summer Capital will again be home to the Filipino southpaw in the early part of his training, before proceeding to the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles for the rest of the build-up to the fight.

“Three weeks muna tayo sa Baguio, and then five weeks sa Wild Card na. Eight weeks uli lahat-lahat ang training natin,” said Pacquiao Saturday night, when he graced the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Annual Awards Night at the Manila Hotel as one of the special guests.

Pacquiao, considered one of the greatest fighters of all-time, has been installed as a heavy 5-1 favorite to breeze past the 28-year-old Bradley, the reigning WBO light-welterweight champion.

The boxing champion and Sarangani province representative said he’ll start getting in shape by the end of the month, as he expects training camp to commence shortly after the Holy Week.
