Philippine News - CJ Corona found Guilty in favor of Article 2 of the impeachment complaint and Chief Justice Corona is the first official of the country to be found guilty of committing an impeachable offense.
As of this posting, 12 senator-judges voted that Corona is guilty of failing to declare all his assets, including $2.4 million and P80 million, in his statements of assets, liabilities and networth.
Senators Edgardo Angara, Alan Peter Cayateno, Pia Cayetano, Franklin Drilon, Francis Edcudero , Jinggoy Estrada, TG Guingona, Gringo Honasan, Panfilo Lacson, Lito Lapid and Loren Legarda voted that Corona is "guilty" of the offense.
However, Senators Joker Arroyo and Miriam Defensor-Santiago voted to acquit Corona in Article 2.
Corona would be found guilty of an impeachable offense if two-thirds of the Senate members voted in favor of an article of impeachment, while one-third of the votes is needed for his acquittal.
