At least two people were killed while one was injured in a three-vehicle smashup at a tunnel along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Mandaluyong City early Sunday.
The vehicles involved included a bus, a sport-utility vehicle and an FX-type Asian utility vehicle, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.
Both fatalities – a driver and a passenger of the FX-type AUV – were declared dead on arrival at the Mandaluyong Medical Center at 7:25 a.m., the report said.
Sunday's incident snarled traffic along the southbound part of the EDSA-Shaw Boulevard tunnel.
It came barely two days after the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority tapped priests to bless parts of EDSA due to deadly accidents there.
On Wednesday last week, a bus snarled traffic on EDSA when it crashed at the Ortigas flyover. Eight people were hurt in the incident.
Passengers claimed the driver of the bus was speeding and texting shortly before the crash.
