MANILA, Philippines -- Actor John Lloyd Cruz said he's enjoying "a
beautiful affair" with his current girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.
"We are just enjoying. Kung nagkakaroon kami ng pagkakataon to be
together, to spend time with her family, side niya, side ko,
napaka-relax lang. Napakasaya lang. Enjoy lang, enjoy niyo lang 'yung
moment, walang pressure. Napakagaan, napaka-fluid," Cruz reporters
during the press conference of his newest series "A Beautiful Affair"
with Bea Alonzo.
For the first time, Cruz on Sunday publicly admitted on "The Buzz" that he and Panganiban are in a relationship.
Cruz, however, stressed that they never denied anything about their
relationship, but explained that he and Panganiban opted to keep what
they have private.
"There's no denying. Since day one, since lumabas ang usap-usapan
about us, wala naman kaming dininay. Wala kaming dapat i-deny. Noong
nakita kami somewhere, nag-Hong Kong kami o saan kami pumunta, hindi
kami nagtatago. Hindi lang namin pinipili na pag-usapan openly 'yung
relasyon," said Cruz.
Although they have known each other for several years since both are
Kapamilya talents, Cruz admitted that he got to know more about
Panganiban when they did the Star Magic film "24/7 In Love," which was
partly shot in Vietnam last April.
"Well matagal na 'yon pero doon ko sya mas nakilala ng mabuti," he said.
Governed by rules?
Cruz made the statement when asked why he seems to have this "rule" of not working with someone he is romantically involved with.
"Hindi naman governed by rules ang aming relasyon. Hindi namin siya pinipili. Hindi namin siya pinipili for the moment," he said.
"Who knows baka in the future magbago ang ihip ng hangin, magbago ang pananaw namin. 'Yun 'yung sinasabi ko parang anything can happen at hindi nawawala 'yung potential mo in achieving more and becoming more. Baka din kasi part siya noon. Hindi ba, parang, hindi mo alam. Gusto ko lang sabihin na hindi siya some kind of rules na dapat hindi magka-trabaho," Cruz added.
