MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Kapamilya actor Matt Evans was arrested
after he allegedly hurt his live-in partner and her brother.
According to SPO1 Lardy Ignacio of the Pasig City Police, Evans'
live-in partner Johnelline Hickins filed a complaint against the actor
Saturday night.
According to the initial report, Hickins and her brother were
planning a surprise birthday party for Evans when the actor and Hickins
had a heated argument.
Hickins fell off the stairs while she and Evans were arguing, prompting the girl's brother Juan Alberto Carlotta to intercept.
Carlotta said he tried to stop the actor from hurting his sister, who just gave birth last month, but he was kicked in the face.
Star Magic said they will issue an official statement later in the day.
Evans, who is currently detained in jail, is set to face violence against women and physical injuries charges.
