MANILA, Philippines - Singer Ogie Alcasid thanked Kapamilya stars comedian Vice Ganda and actress-host Kris Aquino, who came to the rescue
after his wife Regine Velasquez lost her voice during her 25th
anniversary concert last Friday.
In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com, Alcasid has only good words for the "Sisterakas" stars.
"I thank some of them like Kris and Vice for showing their undying
love for Regine.
Seeing all those people back her up.
Hindi ako close kay Vice, I
don't really know him well, minsan nakikita ko siya. But this time, I
really got to see what kind of a humble person he is. It takes a lot of
humility to say those things it takes a lot of class to say those
things.
taong nandoon," Alcasid said.
Alcasid said what made the night extra memorable was the fact that
Velasquez's fans understood their idol's condition and stayed until the
end of the concert.
"I have not heard one negative thing except 'nakakaawa naman si Ate.
kumanta. Okay ka lang?' I don't think I could have done that. She was
really brave," he said of his wife.
During Velasquez's anniversary concert, several of her celebrity friends went up on stage to help the singer entertain her fans.
Among there were Ganda and comedian John Lapus, who assured Velasquez that everybody loves her.
The repeat of singer Velasquez's silver anniversary concert is tentatively set on December 8, according to her sister Cacai Mitra.
Mitra, however, said they are still waiting for the medical clearance from the doctors.
