Jinkee Pacquiao has defended her husband, pound-for-pound champ and Congressman Manny Pacquiao against criticisms on the pricey wristwatches that he gave as Christmas gift to some of his friends in the House of Representatives.

''Basta kami, hindi namin kinukwenta kung ano 'yung ibibigay namin. Basta gusto lang namin na meron kaming mabigyan sa Christmas, na masaya sila,'' Jinkee said in a taped interview aired on ''Startalk,'' Saturday afternoon.

A separate article published on Interaksyon.com on Nov. 15 listed House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat, and party-list representatives Teddy Casino (Bayan Muna) and Antonio Tinio (ACT Teachers) as among the recipients of the boxing champ's generous gift - ''the limited-edition Manny Pacquiao watch manufactured by TechnoMarine, brand which the boxing champion endorses.''

Citing an interview with Manny's Media Relations Officer Rose Tamayo by GMA News, ''Startalk'' pegged the watches between P40,000 and P50,000 apiece. ''Ganyan naman talaga si MP. Sadyang mapagbigay lang at mahilig magbigay ng regalo,'' Rose was quoted as saying.

Further, Jinkee expressed, ''Sana 'yung mga tao, hindi na lang tao magbatikos sa isang tao... Ipagdasal na lang natin. Para at least, prayer is the best weapon.''

In other news, Mrs. Pacquiao revealed that they will be spending Manny's and one of their kids' birthdays in General Santos. Pacquiao turns 34 on Dec. 17.

''Gusto niya sa 15 kasama 'yung mga bata lang, puro bata. And then 17, kay Manny lang,'' she added.
For Christmas, the Pacquiaos - all 38 of them, according to Jinkee - had initially intended to visit Israel again, ''pero magulo doon ngayon,'' so ''baka mag-Gen San na lang kami.''

In parting, Jinkee asked the public to pray for Manny in his upcoming bout against Juan Manuel Marquez to be held next Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
