Apl.de.ap confirmed as 'The Voice PH' coach

MANILA – It’s confirmed. Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas will be joining the Philippine edition of the reality singing contest "The Voice" as a coach.

According to a report on ABS-CBN.com, Apl.de.ap has already signed a deal with the Kapamilya network.

"I am pleased to inform you that I got this morning the soft copy of the signed contract of Apl! He's leaving for Europe today and will be in London [within the month]. Will arrange for TFC London to shoot his OCI (on cam interview) for the plug," TV Production Entertainment Head Laurenti Dyogi said.

Dyogi said the Filipino-American rapper will be arriving in the country next month to join the rest of the "The Voice of the Philippines" team.

Aside from apl.de.ap, Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, singer-actress Sarah Geronimo and former Rivermaya and Bamboo frontman Francisco "Bamboo" Mañalac have already been announced as the other coaches of "The Voice of the Philippines."

Hosted by Toni Gonzaga, "The Voice of the Philippines" is currently holding auditions in time for its premiere telecast later this year on ABS-CBN.
