Amid her controversial separation from her husband, actress-comedienne
Ai Ai delas Alas is seeking police protection, according to an official
of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The 48-year-old actress has applied with authorities to be given
security detail, PNP-Police Security and Protection Group Director
Wilhelm Barlis said.
According to Barlis, delas Alas' application is still under
evaluation, and will be approved once a credible threat against the
actress is proven.
If approved, Barlis said delas Alas may be given one to two police escorts.
Last Sunday, an emotional delas Alas admitted in a taped interview on
"The Buzz" that she and Salang, her husband of one month, broke up after he allegedly physically abused her.
