MANILA, Philippines – “Ten or five years from now…I would never regret ang nangyari sa akin because that’s the beautiful part of it,” Gerald Anderson said about the troubles he has gone through, even the recent controversy due to his relationship with Maja Salvador.
“Parang palagay ko, I can give wise advice sa mga anak ko, because I’ve been through stuff that other people don’t go through,” he told Showbiz Inside Report in an interview on Saturday.
However, he admitted that it is hard to deal with controversies, because he has to be “man enough to fix it.”
“At the end of the day, I just want to be a good person. Tingin ko, iyon ang ano,e…there are times that we are broken, we get beat down, but we have to learn from that. You learn by experience.”
Anderson said that he finds solace in his family and work, and tries to look on the bright side of any situation. “[Even] if you do ten things right, once you do one thing wrong, burado lahat iyon,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter kung ano ang nangyayari sa iyo, kahit gaano kahirap, just stay happy. Just find that happiness dahil kung wala na iyon, wala na. Let go, forgive and move forward with your life, ang natutunan ko.”

“Oo naman,” Gerald Anderson gamely said when asked if he is a "mama’s boy."
“I understand iyong sacrifice na ginawa ng nanay ko para sa akin,” he told Showbiz Inside Report. “Noong nag-artista ako, pina-retire ko na ang nanay ko kasi ayaw ko nang siyang magtrabaho.”
However, he admitted that he is not always a model son because he is hard-headed.
“Aminado ako, matigas ang ulo ko. I like to do things on my own.”
Despite his stubbornness, Anderson said that his mother respects his decisions.
“Hinahayaan niya ako, she lets me make my own decisions, tama man o mali,” he said.
However, he still asks his mother for advice and feels that she knows what is best for him.
“At the end of the day, nanay mo iyan, she knows best. Kahit minsan, nag-aargue kami…at the end of the day, that’s all you have, ina ko pa rin [siya].”
