MANILA – Derek Ramsay said he is too happy with his relationship with Cristine Reyes that he can’t stand hiding it from the public.
“Madaming nagtatanong bakit namin nilabas kaagad, hindi namin tinago. From my end, I’m very happy so hindi ko kayang itago ito,” he said.
Ramsay and Reyes officially became a couple on August 28, but the two said they have been really close friends for several years now.
“Nagkaroon kami ng movie. Doon pa lang, naglolokohan kami parati sa set. Kahit wala na sa set, nagkikita. Kahit kami ni Ray (Rayver Cruz) noon, nagpupunta sa bahay niya. Constant 'yung communication ever since,” she said, referring to the box-office hit "No Other Woman," which also starred Anne Curtis.
Asked when he saw Reyes in a different light, Ramsay said: “We were on the set and pareho kaming nagsama 'yung pagkatopak namin to its peak. And then sabi ko sa kanya ‘Oh let’s hang out.’ That’s when it started feeling awkward which was not supposed to happen.”
Ramsay said he could not understand what he was feeling for Reyes at the time, only to find out later on that the actress was already confused at that time as well.
“More than one week 'yun na parati kaming magkasama na pareho kaming hindi namin alam na parang iba na 'yung pakiramdam,” Reyes said.
Reyes said she appreciates Ramsay for taking things to heart from the time that he asked her to be his girlfriend.
“Ang gusto ko sa kanya, very formal. Parang wala ng gumagawa ng ganun. Sabi niya ‘Will you be my girlfriend?’ Sabi ko ‘Yes. I want to be your girl but not just your girl. I want to be your best friend. I want to be your everything.’” Reyes shared.
As for Ramsay, he told the actress that he will do his best make their relationship work.
“All I can say is I’m going to give everything. She knows how serious I am,” he said.
Before they got together, Reyes was in a relationship with Cruz, while Ramsay’s last girlfriend was Angelica Panganiban.
