MANILA – The matriarch of the Barretto family once again took a swipe at her daughter Gretchen over the socialite-actress' statements on the legal battle of Claudine against estranged husband Raymart Santiago.
In a video aired on “The Buzz” on Sunday, members of the press asked for Inday Barretto’s reaction about Gretchen’s supposed comment that she would prefer the custody of the Claudine’s children be given to Santiago.
Without mincing words, Mrs. Barretto said: “I don’t think she’s a good judge of that. Can I just say something? I take offense because there’s a gag order and we don’t talk and may pasaring saring pa sila, that camp, including my… whoever she is.”
Mrs. Barretto also reacted on allegations that Claudine has the capacity to make up stories.
“She says na we have history of making up stories. That’s not true. Everyone has the time when they have to lie to protect and they have to make up stories to protect but it doesn’t mean that everything that you say is a lie kasi the truth coming from a foul mouth becomes a bad breath,” she added.
Message for Raymart
Aside from Gretchen, Mrs. Barretto also has a message for Santiago, who urged them to help Claudine with her supposed "condition."
On Thursday, Santiago said he was disappointed with Barretto's parents for not standing by a decision they supposedly made concerning the actress' condition.
"Kay mommy at daddy, alam niyo ang totoo. Tayo-tayo ang nag-uusap dati, 'yung problema ni Claudine. Alam niyo and sana panindigan nila 'yung sinabi nila dati sa akin," Santiago said.
Respoding to Santiago’s statements, Mrs. Barretto said: “Yes na yes, Raymart. Alam namin ni daddy ang katotohanan, lahat ng katotohanan na pinaggagagawa mo. Alam mo rin kung bakit nandito na tayong lahat.”
At the height of the Barretto family's publicized feud early this year, Claudine's older siblings Gretchen and Joaquin brought up the actress supposed "illness," noting that she had to be hospitalized at one point.
