An unidentified 22-year-old female student has alleged that comedian and TV host Vhong Navarro tried to rape her Wednesday night in her condominium unit in Taguig, according to the police blotter at the Southern Police District station.

GMA News reported on Saturday that the handwritten complaint did not contain the name of the complainant but bore the signature of Ferdinand Navarro, the real name of the “It’s Showtime” co-host.

The complainant said Navarro, 37, assaulted her and attempted to have sex with her, but she was rescued by two friends who then effected a citizens’ arrest on Navarro and brought the latter to the police station.
Curiously, the complainant declared at the end of her complaint that she will not press charges against Navarro.

Photos sent by Vhong Navarro to ABS-CBN News show the facial injuries he sustained from a mysterious mauling incident in Taguig on Wednesday.

On Friday, Navarro’s manager, the film and television director Chito Rono, told media that Navarro was tied, blindfolded, and mauled by six unidentified men at a female friend’s condo. Rono said the men also tried to extort money from his ward, who was considering to file charges against his assailants.

However, Rono provided no details of the circumstances behind the incident.
Navarro, who is being treated at an undisclosed hospital, sent pictures of his facial injuries to ABS-CBN News that quickly went viral in social media late Friday.
On Friday, his co-hosts on “It’s Showtime” opened the ABS-CBN noontime program with a tearful prayer on his behalf led by Anne Curtis.
