Kuya Kim has message for Geneva Cruz

MANILA, Philippines -- "It's Showtime" host Kim Atienza gave a light-hearted message to singer Geneva Cruz during Wednesday's live episode of the noontime variety program.

Atienza, who was once romantically linked to Cruz, was teased by his co-hosts to greet the singer after he brought her name up while commenting on one of the show's celebrity look-alike contestants.
Referring to a "Kalokalike" contestant impersonating singer Karylle, Atienza said, "Actually, ang 'kalokalike' niya si Geneva, eh."
 
 
The "TV Patrol" weatherman was then coaxed by his co-hosts to give a message to Cruz.
"Uy, may love life si Geneva ngayon. Masayang-masaya siya," said Atienza, who is now married and with three children.
Facing the camera as he addressed Cruz, the TV host added, "Friend, mag-kape tayo soon, ah, kwentuhan tayo."
Cruz and Atienza's friendship goes a long way. In 2002, the former Smokey Mountain member was reportedly one of the singers who performed at Atienza's wedding.
A year earlier, when Cruz first got word that her marriage with former partner Paco Arespacochaga had been annulled, Atienza was among the first people to be informed of the news by the singer.
Last year, Cruz filed for divorce from her husband after Arespacochaga, actor-host KC Montero.
