MANILA - Malacañang denied that President Aquino is meddling in a case filed by actress Ai Ai delas Alas against husband Jed Salang.
The accusation was reportedly made by Salang’s lawyer.
Aquino is allegedly helping delas Alas who had helped in Aquino’s campaign in 2010.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the President has other more pressing matters to attend to, including the crisis in Zamboanga.
Lacierda said the case is not in the “radar” of the President.
“Ang labo naman. Ang Pangulo ho, meron ho tayong kasalukuyang situation dito sa Zamboanga. Sa tingin ko, ang Pangulo marunong maghalaga kung ano ang kailangang tugunan na problema.
Ito pong sinasabi na problema nila ni Ai Ai, sa tingin ko wala sa radar ni Pangulong Aquino ‘yun. So hindi ho niya po-problemahin ang problema ng isang indibidwal at bibigyang timbang ‘yun kaysa sa isang problemang nakakaapekto sa libu-libong tao sa Zamboanga City,” Lacierda told reporters.
Lacierda also has this message to Salang’s lawyer: “Doon sa abogadong na nagsasabing nagbibigay ng tulong ang Pangulo, sa tingin ko, tulog ka ba nitong mga ilang araw na ito? Are you asleep? There’s a greater concern in the country than the problem of your client. So get off the President’s… You’re not even in the radar of the President, so forget about it.”
