MANILA, Philippines – Action star Robin Padilla is happy to be reunited with his son Ali this Christmas.
In an interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday, Padilla said his
former wife Liezl Sicangco allowed Ali to be with him during the
holidays.
“Mabait naman iyon eh. Medyo okay na kami ngayon,” he said. “Nanaig
sa amin yung pagiging magkapatid na Muslim. Taon taon naman tuwing
Pasko, inuuwi niya sa akin ito.”
“Yes I missed him. I missed my Papa. I’m very proud of my Papa,” he said.
Padilla is now married to actress-host Mariel Rodriguez.
In 2010, it was reported that Sicangco asked Ali to stay with her in Australia because she was supposedly irked by Padilla’s purported neglect of their four children -- Queenie, Kylie, Zhen and Ali – due to Rodriguez.
Padilla, for his part, apologized to his ex-wife and their children for his shortcomings.
