Cesar Montano is hoping that problems concerning his marriage to Sunshine Cruz will be resolved soon.
Apparently, the 51-year-old actor feels so much for their three daughters, all of whom he said have been terribly affected by the issue, which has gone to court.
“Kawawa eh,” he told Bulletin Entertainment in a recent press conference. “Wala silang kinalaman sa away.”
It is as such that the award-winning actor says his only intention at this point is to eventually make peace with his estranged wife.
“Sa sobrang pagmamahal ko sa mga anak ko ‘yun ang aking intention, ’yun ang aking prayer,” he said.
Not that he is counting on it.
Asked if he actually feels that reconciliation with Cruz is still possible, Montano shook his head and smiled wryly, muttering, “Only God knows.”
He added, “Basta ako, sa kabila nito I hope na ang kalooban at ang kaayusan ng mga bata ay ma-preserve…”
Although saddened by the whole debacle, which he acknowledged is personally “devastating” to him, Montano won’t allow for regrets.
“Wala po kasi lahat nangyari na eh,” he said, adding, after a long pause, that, “Sa buhay naman ng tao there are so many regrets at kung maibabalik ko lang lahat eh marami akong gustong ibalik but I choose to be thankful to God for what I have right now… I think God is preparing me for a bigger task in life and that I’m just being tested.”
Life goes on for Montano, who is set to appear in a prime role on the upcoming GMA-7 soap “Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas,” set to premiere on Sept. 9.
“Excited na nga ako sobra kasi maganda, maganda ang istorya… unang episode pa lang sigurado akong kagigiliwan ng marami ito,” said he about the soap where he will be paired with some of today’s hottest local actresses including Solenn Heussaff and Lovi Poe.
Isn’t he wary of people romantically linking him to both?
Montano smiled. “Ah wala, wala… hindi naman siguro,” he said.
But is he open to falling in love anew at this point?
“Wala pa sa isip ko ‘yan,” he said. “Kahit sabihin natin walang imposible (pagdating) sa pagmamahal, I don’t think it’s the proper thing given the situation. Sa mata ng Diyos at sa mata ng batas hindi pa rin pwede.”
