MANILA - Embattled actress Claudine Barretto caused alarm for her followers on Twitter Wednesday as she cried for help over a supposed attempt to poison her children.
At around 11 p.m., Barretto tweeted that she and her 2 kids -- 9-year-old Sabina and 7-year-old Santino -- are not safe and that she is being set up for an alleged poisoning.

A subsequent post addressed to Barretto's estranged husband, actor Raymart Santiago, mentioned his ties with the actress' family members and a certain Bernadette Calove.

Barretto's followers on Twitter expressed concern over the actress' tweets, with a number advising her to report the supposed incident to authorities.
Some said they would keep her in their prayers, while others urged Barretto to delete the tweets immediately.
Over an hour later since they were posted, the tweets were still visible on Barretto's timeline.
Aside from Santiago, the "Mula sa Puso" star is estranged from her sisters Gretchen and Marjorie, who supported the actor in his legal battle against the youngest Barretto following her accusations of domestic violence.
Gretchen and Marjorie, along brother JJ, backed Santiago's sworn statements alleging Claudine is mentally ill and has a reported history of drug abuse.
