MANILA -- After being rumored for weeks, Kris Aquino early this week finally confirmed dating Herbert Bautista, birthing a "love team" dubbed by netizens who were surprised by the announcement as "Kristek."
The 43-year-old actress-host, whose love life has regularly made headlines over the years, confirmed being "partners" with the Quezon City mayor during the live telecast of "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" last Monday.
"Herbert and I are partners in either the failure or success of our being together, and we can strengthen what we have by allowing ourselves to have a chance at forever, by keeping private and quiet about what is here and now," Aquino said.

"We are a work in progress, and it is a joint project that both of us are happily undertaking with maturity, respect and commitment," she added.
Aquino has two children from past relationships -- 7-year-old Bimby with basketball player James Yap, and 18-year-old Joshua with actor Phillip Salvador.
Likewise, Bautista has two children -- 10-year-old Harvey and 17-year-old Athena -- with long-time partner Tates Gana. The two were last seen as a couple in public in May 2012 during Bautista's birthday celebration. No news of their separation have been reported.
In the days following Aquino's announcement, netizens took to Twitter to react to the new couple, with some expressing shock and amusement and others wishing the TV host and Bautista a lasting relationship.
Jokes also abounded, dubbing them the new love team to beat.
