Marikina River at alert level 4, forced evacuation ongoing

(Updated 3:31 p.m.) Residents near Marikina River are now being forced to evacuate as Alert Level 4 was raised Tuesday with the water level reaching 18 meters as of 2:45 p.m.

As of 3:30 p.m., the water level reached 18.4 meters.
Under an Alert Level 4, the local government will conduct forced evacuation of any remaining residents living near the river. Alert Level 4 is the Critical Level, and is adopted when the water is 18 or more meters above sea level.
 
 
 
AccordIng to the Marikina PIO, more than 2,000 families or almost 10,000 people have already been evacuated and are currently seeking refuge inside nine evacuation centers.

  • Libis Bulelak Gym-149 Families/755 people (11:40 a.m.)
  • Malanday Elementary School - 321 Families /2,316 people (1:50 p.m.)
  • Sto. Niño Elementary School - 28 Families/ 105 people (1:25 p.m.)
  • Sampaguita Village Malanday - 131 Families/ 667 people (1:50 p.m.)
  • Baranggay Multi Purpose Hall (Brgy. Dela Peña) - 14 Families/ 54 people (2:23 p.m.)
